Every leader of an organization eventually retires or changes jobs. That leaves the Board of Directors and staff wondering what should be done. Will the Board decide to hire someone from within? Will they look at an interim director or will they start the hiring process looking at many candidates?

This presentation will help organizations to start thinking about the future with their Board and staff leaders. Oriana Carey and Colleen Ellingson will share the work that they did around preparing for a future change. We will discuss the process we used as well as what Boards need to think about the process.

The presenters will discuss the slide presentation and then open it up for questions.

Presenters: Colleen Ellingson, facilitator, retired Executive Director and former AEA Board member and a panel of AEA members

NOTE: The Child Welfare Leadership Series is a quarterly session for leaders in adoption that is offered exclusively to AEA members. To learn more about joining AEA please visit our website: www.adoptea.org/joinAEA
