|National Network of Supporters|
Today we are witnessing a growing need for homes for children in foster care. According to the US Health and Human Services’ National Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System, the number of children in foster care who are waiting to be adopted is on rise – from 108,189 children in 2014 to 111,820 children in 2015. Though 50,000 children are adopted each year, more than 250,000 children enter the foster care system also annually. Tragically, about 20,000 young people age-out of the system each year without being adopted.
Our national network of supporters care deeply about the welfare of children growing up in the foster care system. Our supporters give gifts to AEA on an annual or reoccurring basis to ensure all children have the very best possibility of being adopted and their adoptive families have the support they need during and after the adoption process. Through monetary and in-kind contributions, these generous individuals and businesses ensure AEA programs continue to address the educational needs of adoption professionals so that every child who waits in foster care has the best chance of being adopted by a loving family.
